    Pfam family PFAM:PF01934 {Protein of unknown function DUF86 } with 409 members in NR database and additional 169 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Archaea, and Bacteria.

    The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:1ylm) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1wtya_ classified as Four-helical up-and-down bundle fold. Profile-profile methods confirm a remote homology between this family and the superfamily of nucleotidyltransferase substrate binding subunit/domain belonging to the four-helical up-and-down bundle fold. A DALI search with 1ylm as query only provides weak hits with the DUF103 protein 2hsb (Z=11) and the nucleotidyltransferase substrate binding-like protein 2ywa (Z=12).

    A BLAST search with the 1ylm protein sequence (YutE gene from B. subtilis) as query, provides a hit (e-value=1e-35 ; 52% seq. id.; 2% gaps) with the BselDRAFT_2929 gene annotated as cell division protein FtsA [Ref], although the source of this annotation is not clear and likely represents an annotation error.
