    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF06335 {Protein of unknown function (DUF1054) } with 55 members in NR database and additional 3 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2a8e) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1yb3a1 classified as Yktb/PF0168-like fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, no sequence similarity to this fold has been detected. Based on remote homology confirmed by the structure one can hypothesize that this family is some structural similarity and marginal homology to proteins from secretion chaperone-like fold, possibly involved in secretion
