    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF08989 {Domain of unknown function (DUF1896) } with 9 members in NR database and additional 3 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2apl) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1okkd1 classified as PG0816-like fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, this partial similarity is not sufficient for fold assignment. Thus it is a novel fold.
