    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF09001 {Domain of unknown function (DUF1890)} with 17 members in NR database and additional 2 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Archaea. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:1kjn) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1hi9a_ classified as Hypothetical protein MTH777 (MT0777); similar to NAD(P)-binding Rossmann-fold domains fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, this partial similarity is not sufficient for fold assignment. Thus it is a novel fold.
