    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF09630 {Domain of unknown function (DUF2024) } with 50 members in NR database and additional 40 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Archaea, and Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2hfq) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1n13.1 classified as NE1680-like; some similarity to N-terminal domain of MutM-like DNA repair proteins fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, this partial similarity is not sufficient for fold assignment. Thus it is a novel fold.
