    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF09633 {Protein of unknown function (DUF2023) } with 16 members in NR database and additional 1 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Archaea and Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2guk) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d2gy9h1 classified as PG1857-like fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, this partial similarity is not sufficient for fold assignment. Thus it is a candidate for a novel fold.
