    Protein Summary

The TM0544 gene from Thermotoga maritima encodes an ABC transporter (PF00005, COG1131, EC 3.6.3.21). The TM0544 structure adopts a P-loop containing nucleoside triphosphate hydrolase fold and shows strong structural similarity with from Aquifex aeolicus (PDB ids: 2pcl, 2pcj). Similar results were obtained for ATP-binding cassettes from Methanococcus jannaschii (PDB id: 1f3o) and Geobacillus stearothermophilus (PDB id: 2ouk). See Yuan 2001 and Vahedi-Faridi 2008  for more details on structure and function.
