    This protein is now in family PF07980.4 SusD CL0020 along with other structures.

     

    The x-ray crystal structure of target ID 396218 has been determined at a resolution of 1.7 Angstroms using Se-multiwavelength anomalous disperson methods. A search of the Pfam A database using the amino acid sequence shows that the C-terminal end of target ID 396218 (residues 260-534) contains a domain that belongs to theSusD_RagB (PF07980) Pfam group. Shown below is a ribbons representation of the structure of target ID 396218 color coded with the N-terminal region in blue and the C-terminal region in red.

    Proteins from this family, present in all Bacteroidetes, in most of them in large groups of paralogs, are secreted and anchored in the outer membrane, where they become members of the polysaccharide binding/processing unit. Recently, the structures for several SusD proteins from human gut symbiotic bacteria have been reported by JCSG. Target ID 396218 represents the seventh SusD structure reported by JCSG.These related structures include PDB ID 3hdx, PDB ID 3gzs, PDB ID 3g8y, PDB ID 3fdh, PDB ID 3ejn, and PDB ID 3cgh.
