    Protein Summary

    This protein belongs to DUF3237. Two homologous structures  were determined previously by MCSG (3G7G and 3C5O, ~35% seq id). The structure has a b-barrel fold, forming a cavity (occupied by a EDO in the AYE structure, see fig 1).

    5 conserved aromatic residues form  a hydrophobic binding pocket lined by Phe36, Phe66, Tyr 97, Phe144, Trp153.

    Genomic content analysis shows that gene conning this protein locates in the  hca operon (responsible for  hydroxycinnamates degradation) right  downstream  of hcaE porin gene.
